The Chief's Advisroy Board consisted of officers, aides, and civilian personnel from each campus and also from each area (patrol, dispatch, records, front desk, etc.) This board (created in 2001) is chosen to convene yearly to bring issues up to the Chief and his staff that may be affecting areas within the department that command staff may or may not be aware about
UCLEA was informed by an ASU PD Member that they had recently adopted the child of their married spouse. When the Member requested Parental Leave in accordance with ASU policy, the Member was denied the benefit.
Just a reminder, HB 2010 goes into effect on December 3, 2009. This bill changes the definition of compensation, as used for PSPRS to wit:
Since the last update, ASU Police has been proactive in getting its Officers Rifle Certified and getting those long guns on the road. This has been very beneficial in which rifles have been or were needed on calls, including clearing different parking structures on campus for threat calls and assisting other agencies. 
The district has approved our request for new uniforms and patchs. The previous uniforms were a very light tan. The patches had various pastel colors on them and no mention of the word police. This created numerous problems in perception.
